KING OKIE BRAND MUSIC BAND ANNOUNCES CD RELEASE DATE & RELEASE PARTY:
SATURDAY AUGUST 1, 2015 AT THE COMMUNE IN STILLWATER OK.
Stillwater, OK (July7, 2015)—After a year in the works, King Okie Brand Music Band will release the new EP, “In the Sky,” on August 1 with a free party and concert that night at the Commune in Stillwater.
The new EP features six all-original songs by this Stillwater group who have made a name for themselves as undefinable, but insist on calling their work “Heavy Western.”
With protest songs and road music that one fan described as sounding “like Jonny Cash and Bootsy Collins joined Primus,” King Okie Brand Music Band doesn’t sound like other acts in Oklahoma.
The first single from the EP, “Food of the Gawds,” is a comedic protest song about a brownie recipe and is available now on Youtube.
“The CD release party is a chance for us to share our music with our community, but it is also a stepping stone to reaching other goals,” said singer La Bandita Del Lago. “If we manage to sell all the copies of our CD, we will be able to afford to record another hour’s worth of material professionally, which beats asking our fans for money on Kickstarter.”
This event is free and open to the public. (Bring Your Own Picnic Blanket)
